The Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Planning Commission with funding through the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is now accepting proposals for funding under the FY 2022 Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners Program (RSAT Program).

The Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) for State Prisoners Program (42 U.S.C. ยง 3796ff et. seq.) funding assists the state, with developing and implementing residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment programs within the state correctional facilities, and detention facilities, in which persons are incarcerated for a period of time sufficient to permit SUD treatments. RSAT funding assists as well as in the creation and maintenance of community reintegration services for individuals with a strong emphasis on evidence-based best practices. RSAT funds may be used to implement three types of programs: residential, jail-based, and aftercare. Applications involving partnerships with community-based substance use treatment programs should be given priority consideration.
