Island Impressions: The Art of Margit Kanstrup

Join us in celebrating the vibrant life and artistic journey of Margit Kanstrup, a longtime St. Thomas resident whose oil paintings reflect her deep love for nature and the Virgin Islands. Born in Denmark during WWII, Margit made St. Thomas her home in the 1960s, immersing herself in the community and eventually channeling her creativity into art.

Her exhibit showcases landscapes and island scenes that echo her passion for beauty, community, and place. A former accountant, business owner, Carnival leader, and community volunteer, Margit’s legacy extends far beyond the canvas.
