Officers with the Virgin Islands Police Department arrested a man early Thursday on St. Croix after responding to a trespassing complaint at a local bar, where they discovered him asleep under a pool table with a firearm in his possession.

Police were dispatched to Cool Out Bar in Estate Peterโ€™s Rest Thursday following reports of a trespassing incident. Upon arrival, an individual at the establishment handed officers a black satchel containing a 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol, stating that it belonged to Ramon A. Gantier was taken into custody and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and simple assault and battery (domestic violence). His bail was set at $25,000, the police report stated.
