Man Arrested on St. Croix for Alleged Kidnapping, Sexual Assault

Detectives arrested 21-year-old Danny Ramon Dominguez DeJesus March 20 in connection with an alleged kidnapping and sexual assault reported last month, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.

A nurse at Juan F. Luis Hospital contacted the 911 Emergency Call Center on Feb. 24 at approximately 10:33 p.m. to report that a female patient had arrived seeking treatment for a sexual assault, according to the police report.

An investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau determined that on Feb. 22, the victim accepted a ride home from DeJesus. She became alarmed when he drove past the intersection leading to her residence and instead took her to an unknown location. DeJesus then asked her to have sex with him, and when she refused, he allegedly sexually assaulted her. The victim reported that she pleaded with him to stop and sustained visible injuries during the assault, the police report stated.

Authorities located DeJesus and transported him to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station, where he was advised of his Miranda Rights, the report stated.

According to the VIPD, he admitted to having intercourse with the victim. DeJesus was arrested on a charge of kidnapping for rape and was unable to post bail, which was set at $150,000. He was subsequently taken to the John A. Bell Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing.
