The 2024 U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) Premier League “BIG 4” Championship wrapped up with an action-packed two-day event at Bethlehem Soccer Complex on St. Croix. Fans were treated to a weekend of intense soccer, live music and local food vendors in a family-friendly atmosphere that showcased the best of the territory’s soccer talent.

Day 1: Semi-Final Action

The semi-finals kicked off the tournament with dramatic matchups. In the first game, Rovers staged an impressive comeback, defeating New Vibes 2-1 after an early penalty goal from their opponents. The victory was particularly satisfying for Rovers, avenging their loss to New Vibes in the 2024 USVISF Presidents Cup final.

In the second semi-final, Helenites shocked favorites LRVI with a 3-2 win. Despite LRVI’s dominant season in the St. Thomas league, Helenites displayed resilience and skill to secure their place in the final.

Day 2: Final Showdowns

The third-place match between LRVI and New Vibes delivered high drama, ending with LRVI triumphing 5-4 after extra time in a game that featured nine goals.

The championship final saw a historic all-St. Croix clash between Helenites and Rovers, the first meeting of these two teams in the BIG 4 tournament. Rovers took an early lead, with Helenites narrowing the score to 2-1 before a last-minute goal by Alfred Harris secured a 3-1 victory for Rovers. This win marked Rovers’ first-ever BIG 4 title and capped their undefeated season.
