Virgin Islands Sports Ambassador Michelle Smith has been nominated for the Student-Athlete of the Year Award at Montverde Academy.

Smith is sporting a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.32 (out of 4.00)
She most recently won double gold for the Virgin Islands in the Carifta Games in the 400m hurdles and 800m. Setting a new Virgin Islands record in the 800m. Smith is also ranked No. 1 in the World in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.06
For Montverde Academy, Smith holds the Short Track (Indoor) records for 55m hurdles, 60m hurdles, 600m, the long jump and the Outdoor records for the 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 800m and the long jump.
