A community of cruise runners donated cash, gift cards and supplies to St. Thomas’ Nana Baby Children’s Home on Saturday, March 2.

One-hundred-thirty-five Run for Fun Cruise Tours participants were among the passengers on board Norwegian Viva who arrived at the West Indian Company Dock (WICO) on St. Thomas, the last stop of their cruise.

Starting at the southwest corner of Mandela Circle, the runners headed west to the Wilmoth Blyden Marine Terminal before circling back to Emancipation Garden for an awards and presentation ceremony.

The donation to Nana Baby Children’s Home was one of only three made to schools and charities in communities where the group disembarked to run. Contributions also were made in stops to the British

Virgin Islands and St. Lucia. The cruise began in Puerto Rico; it also included stops in Antigua and St. Maarten.

Founded in 1989 by Louise Larcheveaux-Ali, Nana Baby Children’s Home provides a safe, loving and supportive home for children of all ages in crisis.

Canada-based Run for Fun Cruise Tours has been organizing two cruises each year for runners aboard various cruise ships for the past 15 years.
