Man Assaulted with Machete; Suspect Still At Large

A man was assaulted with a machete on St. Thomas Sunday, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Around 6:00 a.m., VIPD responded to an assault at Jugos Naturals located on Kronprindsens Gade. The Criminal Investigation Bureau was notified and discovered that two Hispanic men were arguing when it turned physical, and the suspect took a machete out of his vehicle and struck the victim several times, causing deep lacerations to his hand and head, according to the police report.

The suspect fled the area. The victim was transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center, the police report stated.

This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
