Man Arrested for Killing His Brother

A 47-year-old man was shot and killed at a residence on St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On July 22, a citizen reported to police someone was shot at a residence in Estate Thomas, St. Thomas, according to police records.

The citizen and officers traveled to the residence and discovered an unresponsive male lying on the ground. The male appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body, the police reported stated. 

Emergency Medical Technicians, who were on the scene, concluded that the male had no vital signs. The male’s next of kin identified him as 48-year-old Steave Liverpool, said VIPD. 

While on the scene, police received information that the victim’s brother, Richard Liverpool shot and killed him. Richard Liverpool, 47 years old, was arrested and charged with murder in the first degree, assault in the first degree, assault in the third degree, and unauthorized use of a firearm during a crime of violence. His bail was set at  $1,000,000, according to the press release.

Liverpools’ death marks St. Thomas’ 12th homicide of the year and brings the territory’s total to 21 since the start of 2023, according to the Source Homicide List.*
