On Tuesday, 18 shots were fired in Grove Place on St. Croix, the V.I. Police Department reported.
ShotSpotter indicated that the shots were fired near Cozy Corner Bar, according to the police report.
When officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with a woman, who stated that she was running for cover when the shots began and she was inadvertently struck by an unknown vehicle that was trying to drive out of the parking lot. She sustained minor injuries due to being struck, the police report stated.
While at the scene, officers were notified that a man was present at Juan F. Luis Hospital with gunshot wounds to his body. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds. However, he is in stable condition and receiving further care, the report stated.
