Man Arrested For Swinging a Stick

The V.I. Police Department reported that on May 5, a man was arrested for assault in the third degree after he was identified by the victim who said he was struck with a stick. 

On March 15, a man reported to police that he was assaulted by Oswin Richards, 58, in the area of Cruz Bay. Allegedly Richards approached the victim, threw down his beer, and began to thrust a wooden stick at him and later struck him in the head, causing injuries, said police. 

According to press release, Richards was also charged with aggravated assault, disturbance of the peace, hate-motivated crime, and simple assault. Bail was set at $25,000, and unable to post bail, he was turned over to corrections pending his advice of rights hearing, police reported.
