Temporary Closure of Taxicab Commission Due to Environmental Issues at STT Offices

The Virgin Islands Taxicab Commission is advising all taxi operators and the public of the temporary closure of its offices located on the first floor, Property and Procurement Building, Sub Base, due to environmental issues.

Management was advised by its landlord, Property and Procurement, that due to these issues, it was necessary to temporarily close the agency to protect the health and safety of the employees during the testing, remediation, cleaning and sanitization of the office.

The Virgin Islands Taxicab Commission regrets this temporary disruption to its normal operations, and it reminds taxi operators to take note of the documents that will be required to present to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles should it become necessary to have their annual vehicle inspection completed while the agency is temporarily closed.

Annual Vehicle Inspection

  1. 2022 Business License.
  2. Tax clearance letter issued in 2023.
  3. Current Police and Traffic Record.
  4. Taxi ID Badge and Driverโ€™s License.
  5. Certificate of Entitlement.
  6. Valid Vehicle Insurance.
  7. Any other inspection requirements by BMV.

The Commission apologizes for this temporary interruption to its normal services and will waive all penalties for taxi operators from Feb. 28 through March, April and, if necessary, May.
