Man Arrested for Stolen Property in Rash of Burglaries on St. John

A man turned himself in and was arrested Monday for an alleged burglary on St. John, the V.I. Police Department reported Tuesday.

Jamari Gumbs, 19, was found in possession of stolen property linked to the burglary and several other cases that took place on St. John in April, according to the VIPD.

Gumbs was unable to post bail set at $25,000 and was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing, police said.

The case remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau Detective S. Donastorg at 340-774-2211, ext. 5575, or Crime Stoppers V.I. at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
