Victim Airlifted after Dance Party Shooting Injures Two on St. Croix

 

A female shot early Sunday morning while at a dance party held at the La Reine Shopping Center parking lot has been airlifted off island for further medical treatment, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The shots rang out from inside the “Tsunami” themed event, and police were called around 1:46 a.m. Sunday, though they are still trying to piece together the circumstances. Along with the female, who was initially transported by ambulance to Juan F. Luis Hospital after being shot in the chin, a male minor was also injured, sustaining a wound to the upper shoulder.

The shooting is under active investigation; VIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau is asking anyone with information on this incident or any other to please call CIB at 340-712-6092, the CIB Tip-Line at 340-778-4950, 911, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
