St. John Man Charged with Attempted Murder

The V.I. Police Department on Thursday arrested Ezius M. Ashly, age 21 of Calabash Boom, on a warrant charging him in a shooting incident that took place Sept. 16 in Susannaborg on St. John.

Ashly is charged with second-degree attempted murder, unauthorized use of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, first-degree assault, third-degree assault, discharging or aiming firearms, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and reckless endangerment.

According to police, Ashly was observed on video surveillance as a suspect in a shooting incident that occurred in Susannaborg on Sept. 16.

Ashly was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections after failing to post $200,000 bail, pending his advice of rights hearing.
