St. Thomas Man Charged with Possession of Unlicensed Firearm

A 23-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested Friday and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the report, at 8:49 p.m., Friday, police were inspecting a residence at Oswald Harris Court. In the course of the inspection, officers discovered several firearms, the police report says. E’Jaiey Grant admitted to owning the firearms and was unable to show that he was licensed to possess them.

Grant was placed under arrest. The case continues to be under investigation, police said, urging anyone with information to call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS). Reports to Crime Stoppers that help resolve a crime can earn the caller an anonymous cash reward.
