Police Investigate Killing of Horse in Estate Richmond

Police are investigating a report that a horse was killed Saturday in Estate Richmond on St. Croix. According to police, the owner of the horse on Sunday visited the V.I. Police Department’s Anselmo Marshall Command to report the horse had been killed.

The owner reported that at around 5:30 p.m., Saturday, he tied the horse in a field in Estate Richmond. He returned to the field the next day at around 6:30 a.m. and found the horse dead with what appeared to be stab wounds about its body.

The horse’s owner stated that he doesn’t know who would harm the horse or why someone would do that.

The VIPD Animal Cruelty Investigator is asking the community in the Estate Richmond area to provide information by calling 911 or the anonymous tip services, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).
