Four Injured in Smith Bay Shooting

Four people were injured Sunday evening during a shooting near a restaurant in Smith Bay, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, at about 10:58 p.m., Dec. 27, officers were advised of a shooting incident near a with four male victims.

Officers made contact with a victim at the Schneider Regional Medical Center who reported that he had been in a physical altercation with an unknown Black male in the area of Smith Bay and was shot. The other three gunshot victims also arrived at the hospital and each victim indicated they were not associated with a fight or altercation when shot.

Police did not release the names of the victim, in accordance with department policy.

The victims all told the police that they had no knowledge of who may have fired the shots.

The first victim sustained a laceration to the face from the altercation and a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The second victim sustained two gunshot wounds to the left arm. The third victim sustained a gunshot wound to the left thigh and the fourth victim sustained a gunshot wound to the left hip.

All victims were listed in stable condition as of Monday afternoon.
