The V.I. Department of Health confirmed in a press release on Thursday that the territory has seen its 21st death related to COVID-19.

The deceased was a 76-year-old woman on St. Thomas. According to DOH, that brings the island-by-island totals to 14 from St. Thomas, six from St. Croix and one from St. John.

The Department of Health urged residents to continue following precautionary measures to slow the spread of COVID-19. They are:

– Stay at home,
– Practice social distancing,
– Wear a mask when in the company of others outside of those in your household,
– Clean frequently used areas thoroughly, and
– Wash hands often with soap and warm water.

A suspected case of COVID-19 can be reported by calling 340-712-6299 or 340-776-1519.
