Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Sunny Isle

A man was robbed by an masked gunman Thursday evening at at Sunny Isle Shopping Center, the V.I. Police Department reported in a news release issued Tuesday.

According to the VIPD report, at about 10:10 p.m. Sept. 24 officers were dispatched to the Sunny Isle Shopping Center regarding an armed robbery.

Detectives made contact with the victim, a Ranger Security Guard, who said that while he was on duty at his post, he was approached by a Black male with a black handgun who demanded his belongings. The victim handed over the keys for his car and his mobile phone, and the suspect fled on foot. Detectives located the car keys at the scene.

The suspect was described as wearing a black shirt, khaki pants with a white belt, and a black ski mask.

Detectives are urging anyone with information about this incident to call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950, or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).
