St. Thomas Man Shot in Sugar Estate

A St. Thomas man was treated at the Schneider Regional Medical Center for gunshot wounds he received Wednesday in Sugar Estate, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the VIPD, at 1:24 a.m. July 8 the 911 emergency call center dispatched officers to the hospital emergency room in reference to a gunshot wound victim.

A citizen told officers that he heard an argument between the victim and a female in Sugar Estate, then heard shots being fired. The citizen said he did not see who fired the shots, nor did he see anyone leaving the area.

The male victim, whose name was not released in accordance with department policy, was shot in the right knee and was listed in stable condition.

Police urged anyone with information about the incident to contact police by calling 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211, or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
