Limetree Bay Terminals LLC and Limetree Bay Refining LLC (Limetree Bay) donated four thermal scanners last month to assist the V.I. Department of Health (DOH) in its efforts to temperature screen all incoming airport passengers to the territory.

The DOH, with the assistance of the Virgin Islands National Guard (VING), began the airport screening mission in April to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 within the V.I. When officials at Limetree Bay learned the DOH’s temperature screening devices would be delayed, they offered to provide temperature scanners in order to support the DOH’s efforts to reduce the risk of the virus.

Limetree Bay also donated two thermal scanners to the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) to aid in the efforts to screen their 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs).

The temperature scanners are non-contact, infrared forehead thermometers, and they are currently used at Limetree Bay to screen its own employees.
