DLCA Releases Rack Rates and Fuel Price Survey

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA) notifies the public of its latest territory-wide fuel price survey findings. Fuel Price Surveys were conducted April 27 and April 28, on St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John. Fuel surveys are included for comparative viewing and transparency.

On St. Croix, the lowest price for self-service regular and self-service premium fuel were found at Five Corners Service Station for $1.959 and $2.359/gallon respectively. Two weeks ago, the lowest price for self-service regular and self-service premium were $1.999/gallon and $2.399/gallon, for an equal decrease of $0.04. East Way Service Station came in second with the lowest price for self-service premium at $1.969/gallon. The lowest price for diesel was $2.479/gallon at Super Tank Service Station. Two weeks ago, the lowest price for diesel was $2.750/gallon for a decrease of $0.271.

On St. Thomas, the lowest prices for self-service regular and self-service premium fuel were found at Ali Baba and Race Track at $2.899/gallon and $3.399/gallon respectively. Two weeks ago, the lowest price for self-service regular and self-service premium were $3.099/gallon and $3.459/gallon for a decrease of $0.20 and $0.06.  Gas Works and Giant Gas both have the lowest price for diesel at $3.399/gallon. Two weeks ago, the lowest price for diesel was $3.599 for a decrease of $0.20.

On St. John, gas prices remain the same from two weeks ago. The lowest self-service prices were found at Racetrack at $3.05/gallon for regular and premium and $3.25/gallon for premium.  E-C Gas Station came in second with the lowest for self-service at $3.09/gallon for regular and $3.29/gallon for premium.  The lowest price for diesel was found at RaceTrack for $4.05/gallon.

Finally, DLCA announces the latest rack rate prices issued by Gulf Oil at Lime Tree Bay Terminal effective April 27 – May 3. The new rack prices have the .14/gallon tax $0.93 for regular, $0.9900 for premium and $1.0800 for diesel (ULSD). Currently, the rack rate quoted is only available for the District of St. Croix.  Fuel retailers for the District of St. Thomas-St. John purchase fuel from more than one fuel wholesale supplier.  As soon as DLCA receives the wholesale rates for each fuel supplier for the District of St. Thomas-St. John, it will publish the information.
