Domestic Assault Reported on STT

The V.I. Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit is investigating report of an assault that took place late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

According to police at 1 a.m. Wednesday detectives of the Domestic Violence Unit were dispatched to Schneider Regional Medical Center in response to a reported assault.

The victim of this incident reported that she was assaulted by her boyfriend while they were in their vehicle, and again when they arrived at their residence. The victim, whose name was not released by police, told officers that during the altercation she retrieved a knife, but the suspect took the knife from her and used it to threaten her life.

The victim was able to escape and drove herself to the Emergency Room for treatment of the injuries sustained.

Police urged anyone with information about the incident is urged to call 911, the Domestic Violence Unit at 340-774-2211 extension 5537, or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
