Education Consolidating Breakfast, Lunch Distribution

Starting Monday, the V.I. Department of Education will consolidate breakfast and lunch distributions in its “No V.I. Child Goes Hungry” feeding initiative to a once-daily distribution from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Both meals can be picked up at the designated locations during these hours, the department said in the news release announcing the change.

“The move is an effort to minimize staff exposure to the public, provide the convenience of a single pick-up time for parents, and decrease fuel costs for transportation of meals,” the VIDE said.

This schedule will remain in effect for the duration of the feeding initiative, which is expected to conclude on or before June 4, the department said.
