Frederiksted Man Charged with Vandalizing Buildings

The V.I. Police Department at 2:33 p.m. Friday arrested arrested Jimmy “Tayi” Navarro, age 46 of Hospital Street, Frederiksted, on a warrant for five counts of destruction of property and five counts of public nuisance.

Navarro was identified as the individual who threw motor oil on the walls and floors of the exteriors of the office of the Delegate to Congress, the Supreme Court, Frederiksted Health Care and the Frederiksted Post Office between Feb. 15 and Feb. 18.

Bail for Navarro was set at $50,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
