Paget Garnette Dies at 78

Paget Garnette

Paget Garnette, affectionally known as “Riley” and “Body Man,” died on Jan. 8, at Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.  He was 78 years of age.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pearl Garnette; sons: Rufus and Leroy Garnette; daughters: Clotel Vinson, Barbara Phillips, Debbie Garnette and Yvette Christopher; brothers: Jeremiah Nelson in Nevis and Jim Garnette in England; nephews: Earle Garnette, Frankie Nelson and Cuthbert Nelson Jr.; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends too numerous to mention.

The first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. The second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by service at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Agape Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay.
