Maude E. Malone Dies at 79

Maude E. Malone

Maude E. Malone was born on the island of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on March 21, 1940, and died on May 1, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Roy M. Malone; mother, Geraldine Vera Brown; father, Arthur Lemuel Brown; sisters: Lydia Leona Brown and Lydia Mae Brown; brothers: Herbert Brown, Arthur Brown Jr., Arthur Brown III and Walter E. Brown; great nephew, Dave D. Smith; and her first husband and the father of her four children, Leonard J. Creque.

She is survived by her daughters: Gwenevere L. Creque and Cherise Creque Quain; daughter-in-law, Cheryl S. Creque: sons: Dale A. Creque and Leonard Creque Jr.; son-in-law, Joseph D. Quain; daughters by marriage: Sarita Malone and Danielle Malone; sons by marriage: Andre Malone and Shawn Michael Malone; granddaughters: Makisha Creque, Jolena Harrigan, Saida Harrigan and Brandi Marsh; grandsons: Ja’Marr Wallace Creque, Benito Creque, Masaca Creque, Shamarley Creque, Leonard Creque Jr. and Jacinto Rojas III; great-grandchildren: Sheniah Carr, Ja’Daia Williams, Kianna Hodge, Aiesha Hodge, Ande’jah Archibald and Akwany Weekes; sisters: Dorothy Brown-James, Claudette Brown-Glover and Koren Alicia Brown; and brothers: Otto A. Brown, Elroy Brown, David Brown and Kenneth Brown.

She is also survived by nieces: Mercedes Navedo Brown, Beverly Billings, Lydia Tomlinson, Ebony Brown, Deborah Brown, Cheryll R. Brown, Deniece Leona Brown, Diana Evangeline Brown and Andrea Glover-Herry; nephews: Timothy Brown, Elroy (Babou) Brown Jr., Aaron Brown, Manuel Navedo-Brown, Walter E. Brown Jr., Jason Walter Brown and Kelvin Brown; great-nieces: Dana Collazo, Deirdra Powell and Chante Bailey; great nephews: Davon Bailey, Rashaun Bailey, Louis Navedo Diaz, Linton Robertson Navedo, Simeon Brown and D’Haden Galloway; cousins: Almeada George and Angela Smith; special friends: many at home and abroad whose lives she touched and who impacted her life; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A viewing will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 18, at the St. Thomas Assembly of God, immediately followed by a service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Western Cemetery No. 2.
