Faustina Sanderson Dies at 76

Faustina Sanderson

Faustina Sanderson died on Jan. 8 at Schneider Regional Medical Center at the age of 76.

She is survived by her husband, Gabriel Sanderson; daughter Belinda Sanderson, sons George Durand, Monroe Sanderson and Paul Sanderson; stepdaughter Clara Francis; stepson Joseph Sanderson; aunt, Ezabella Fontain; grandchildren Jose and Torian Rosario, Jamali, Ja’Lil, Justice, Jeremiah, Monroe Jr., and Emery Sanderson, Christal, Hakim and Makayla Durand, and Tiana and Khari Sanderson; sisters: Zexia Durand, Rhoda Durand, and Judy JnoBaptiste.

She is also survived by brothers: Jimmy Durand, Marjel Durand and Nichols Durand; brothers in law Gregorie Durand, Millington Prosper, Danny JnoBaptiste, Alfred Durand, Pascal Durand and Francis Gregorie; nieces: Chanda, Alyssa, Nia, Kellyn, Brenda, Leonora, Catherine, Nelda, Ingrid, Constance, Celia, Bridgette, Zethrin, Marlyn, Donna, Zeporah, Marian, Claudette, Valencia, Cylma, Yvonne and Ann.

Other survivors include nephews: Warren, Hayes, Kenrick, Joey, Festus, Marley, Fitzallen, Darwin, Jacob, Lawrence, Stern, John, Mitchel, Matthew, Ezra and Edward; 46 great nieces; 66 great nephews, and special friends: Eden Harding, Emma Sebastien, Gabrielle George, Roslyn Casimir, Josephine Castor, Michel and Judith Celestine, and Theresa Steele.

Preceding her in death are son Ray Sanderson Sr.; sisters: Phillian Prosper and Phoebe Clarke; brothers: Dominique Durand and Emrod Durand; grandchildren Ray Sanderson Jr. RaeQuan Sanderson, RaySean Sanderson; brothers in law Sullivan Sanderson and Edmund Sanderson; sisters in law Paulina Toussaint and Stephanie Sanderson; niece Edris, and nephew, Paris.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral. The viewing will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Living Word Family Ministries. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Dan Hurley Homes for Funerals and Cremation Center of St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix.
