Raw sewage continues to bubble up at the base of Domini Gade on St. Thomas. Though many residents have called the Departments of Public Works and the Waste Management Authority to complain about the problem, the sewage continues to flow.
One resident pointed to a house above Garden Street and said he reported the problem mroe than a month ago. He said the pipeline below a house cracked and the sewage is obvious to everyone in the neighborhood.
A phone call from a Source reporter was referred to a Ms. Jennings at the Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority, whose motto is: Preserving Paradise. She did not answer the call.
The evidence of a problem is bubbling up into the street next to a pile of garbage. The smell of sewage is strong along the length of the street, obvious to anyone who visits the neighborhood, not to mention citizens who live there or students who attend All Saints Cathedral School.
One resident said numerous government vehicles have been parked near the source of the leak recently, and yet no work has been done to fix the problem.
