Man Killed in Polyberg Shooting

A black male, identified Sunday evening as 39-year-old Jermaine Godeth, was killed early Sunday when he was shot in the Polyberg area, accordong to the V.I. Police Department.

According to police, officers of the Major Crime Unit were dispatched at 2:41 a.m. Sunday to Polyberg ona report of a shooting.

At the scene officers found an unresponsive young black male, later identified as Godeth, lying on his back on the sidewalk. Prior to the officer’s arrival on the scene EMT had found no vital signs.

The deceased was transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center morgue by the morgue attendant.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211, the 911 call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
