Tourism Seeks Entertainers on All Three Islands

United States Virgin Islands Department of Tourism

The V.I. Department of Tourism (DOT) is seeking entertainers, including musicians, dancers and other performing artists, who are interested in working at U.S. Virgin Islands cruise ports and airports.

Entertainers should visit DOT’s offices to complete an application and W-9 form and to provide the following: a copy of a current business license, performance sample (if available), and rates for on- and off-island performances.

Criteria for Artists:
Musicians will be involved in performing music in a variety of genres. They can be instrumentalists and/or singers who perform either in the studio or before live audiences.

Dancers must be able to perform for live audiences and for television, film and video productions with choreographed performances and appropriate costumes.

Mocko jumbies should be able to dance for 45-minute intervals and be dressed appropriately for the art form.

Actors should be able to perform for live audiences in a studio or “on location” for film, television, internet and radio broadcast. The individual should also be able to do voice-overs for advertisements or recordings.

Interested applicants should have flexible schedules and be available to work during the week, on weekends and on holidays.

Applications can be picked up at the Department of Tourism offices on Strand Street in Frederiksted, St. Croix; on St. Thomas at the Visitors’ Center (behind the former USO building); the John McCleverty Welcome Center at the Havensight cruise ship dock; or at the Visitors’ Center in Cruz Bay, St. John.

Entertainers who have previously worked with DOT are encouraged to contact the office to update their files with current information.

For more information, contact Angela Payne on St. Thomas at 774-8784, ext. 2229; Frances Augustin on St. Croix at 772-0357; or Francilia Williams on St. John at 776-6450.
