The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) held the V.I. Small Business Week Awards Ceremony in conjunction with the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center on May 18 (St. Croix) and May 19 (St. Thomas).
The event recognized the efforts of small businesses and entities that provide resources to support the development and sustainability of small businesses in the Virgin Islands. For two consecutive years, Banco Popular has been awarded Lender of the Year on St. Thomas and St. Croix. Additionally, in 2015, the award was received for Lender of the Year on St. Thomas (only).
Receiving the award on St. Croix on behalf of the bank were Oran C. Bowry, senior vice president and division manager; and Francine Cruicshank, AVP and commercial relationship officer of commercial credit.
On St. Thomas, Calford Martin, vice president and manager of commercial credit and services; and Carolyn Ashby, commercial relationship officer; were the recipients.
