A man was shot Tuesday evening in the Mon Bijou area, sustaining several gunshot wounds, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to the police, the 911 center dispatched officers at 9:26 p.m., to a report of shots discharged in the Mon Bijou area. The preliminary investigation revealed that a gunshot victim had been taken to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital by a private vehicle.
At the hospital, the victim, a male whose name was not revealed by police, was being treated for gunshots wounds to the upper and lower parts of the body.
The area of the shooting was canvassed and processed by the forensic unit. The case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
