VI SBDC, USDL to Hold Free Federal Labor Conference

The Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center (VI SBDC) and the U.S. Department of Labor (USDL) have announced a free Federal Labor Conference. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will be participating in a free, day-long conference to be held on St. Thomas and St. Croix. The presenting agencies will speak on current federal regulations affecting the business community.
Topics will include:
Final Rule updating the 541 regulations (WHD)
Gender Stereotyping/Gender Identity Discrimination in the Workplace (EEOC)
ERISA: Title I, Part 7 (EBSA)
Overview of OSHA (OSHA)
The events will be held on these dates and at these locations:
St. Croix from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday Aug. 3, at UVI Great Hall, Albert A. Sheen Campus, RR1 Box 10,000. Contact Hazel Jones at 692-5270
