Woman Injured in Garden Street Shooting

A woman, whose identity was not released by the police, was wounded by gunfire Monday afternoon, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, officers traveled to the Schneider Regional Medical Center at 2:45 p.m. Monday when the hospital reported it was treating a shooting victim.

At Schneider, officers talked to a 24-year-old  woman who had sustained gunshot wounds to her right upper shoulder, right ear and right cheek. She was admitted for further medical treatment.

Forensic detectives interviewed the victim and took photos.

Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call 340-774-2211, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-714-9801, 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers VI, at 800-222-8477.
