Man Injured in Tutu Hi Rise Shooting

The V.I. Police reported that 28-year-old Kaleem Stephens was injured Thursday morning in a shooting incident that took place in Tutu Hi Rise.

According to police, the 911 center received a call at approximately 8:25 a.m. Thursday about a shooting. Officers arriving at the scene did not find a victim, and were told that the victim had already been transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center by private vehicle.

At the hospital, officers met with Stephens, who told them he had been in the area of Tutu Hi Rise when he heard shots fired towards the wall he was standing against. He felt pain to his leg and realized he was wounded, he continued, and was transported to the hospital.

Stephens told police he had was unsure as to who would want to shoot him or why.

Stephens sustained two bullet wounds to his left leg and was being treated for his injuries as of early Thursday afternoon.
