Man Killed in Savan Shooting

A man identified as 23-year-old Kishawn Fleming was shot and killed early Tuesday in Savan, according to the V.I. Police Department.

It was the eighth homicide on St. Thomas since the beginning of the year, the 11th in the territory.

At about 3:50 a.m. Tuesday police responded to a 911 call reporting an unresponsive male on Regerrings Gade, in the vicinity of Savan.

Arriving at the scene, officers found an African-American man lying motionless near the side of the road. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man sustained multiple gunshot wounds about the body.

The emergency medical technicians indicated that the victim showed no signs of life and pronounced him dead on the scene.

Police asked anyone with information about the homicide to phone the Major Crimes Unit at 340-714-9823, the 911 emergency call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
