Police Investigate Wintberg Homicide

The body of a man who had received multiple gunshot wounds was found Thursday night in Estate Wintberg, the V.I. Police Department reported.

It was the fifth homicide on St. Thomas since the first of the year, the sixth in the territory.

Police did not release the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin.

According to the police report, at 10:29 p.m. Thursday the 911 emergency call center received a report of a victim in the vicinity of Estate Wintberg. Officers responding to the scene found an unresponsive Hispanic male along the roadside.

The victim appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds about the body, and was pronounced dead at the scene after no sign of life was detected by the emergency medical technicians.
