No More Trash Collection Carts In Frenchtown

The V.I. Waste Management Authority will permanently remove the solid waste collection carts in the Honduras area of Frenchtown, effective Monday, Nov. 9, according to the WMA. Area residents will now have to use the bin site near the Addelita Cancryn Junior High School.

According to WMA, after discussions and a meeting with members of the Frenchtown Civic Organization on the volume of waste collected in the carts and how the area is close to a bin site in the area, WMA decided to permanently remove the carts in the Honduras area.

A no-dumping sign will be placed in the area. Anyone found guilty of dumping trash anyway, violating the territory’s litter laws, can be fined up to $1,000 and possibly face up to 180 days in jail.
