Suspect Arrested in 2013 Coki Point Homicide

The V.I. Police Department on Thursday arrested Craig B. King of Anna’s Retreat on a warrant charging him for a homicide in 2013 at Coki Point.

According to police, King was responsible for the death of Jumore C. Lewis. Lewis was one of two people who died Oct 14, 2013 at Coki Point Beach during a large event. Several patrons became involved in a melee, the police said, and one or more individuals began shooting.

Akilah Godet, a 35-year-old woman, also was killed, police said, while another victim received a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

King was arrested without incident at 9 p.m. Thursday, processed and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice of rights hearing. Bail set at $200,000.
