Man Injured in Kronprindsens Gade Shooting

A man was shot early Friday morning after leaving a club on Kronprindsens Gade, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Emergency dispatchers sent officers to the vicinity of Club 75 at about 3:15 a.m. There they found the victim, Keith Johnson, sitting in a puddle of blood.

Johnson told officers he had left the club and was making his way downstairs when he may have provoked an unknown black man, who pulled out a gun. Johnson said he began running, heard a shot and felt a burning sensation on his right side.

A witness on the scene contacted the police, and the victim was transported by ambulance to the Schneider Regional Medical Center to treat a gunshot wound to the right hip.
