Junior varsity basketball action continued on St. Thomas this week with Charlotte Amalie High Schools boys and girls teams picking up a pair of wins over All Saints and Addelita Cancryn Junior High respectively.
On Tuesday, the Hawks came away with an impressive 63-11 victory over All Saints, with center Naseem Huggins leading the way with 14 points. CAHS boys coach Thomas Brutvan has said that Huggins has developed since last season as a player and Brutvan is pleased with how the team has continued to work together.
During the game, Didier Hughes scored 12 points for the Hawks, while Akijah Estridge put in six.
For the Lady Hawks, Delma Luke and Rhea Benjamin scored 10 points each against Cancryn, leading the way to the 38-7 victory. CAHS scored 14 points in the first and third periods, leaving Cancryn trailing.
For Cancryn, Shequnna James was the top scorer with three points.
To kick off the week, Ivanna Eudora Kean also beat All Saints, 43-17, while CAHS dominated Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School, 23-11.
