Police Investigate Two Recent Burglaries

Police on St. Croix are investigating two burglaries that took place this week. In both cases a suspect entered into the victims’ homes while they were present.

No one was injured in either burglary.

At a little after 3 a.m. Monday police were dispatched to LBJ Gardens to investigate a burglary. The resident in the home said she had secured her home for the night but left the southern louvers open. She was awakened by a noise and noticed that the window screen was pushed in and her keys were missing.

At about 10 p.m. Sunday police were called to a burglary in the Orange Grove Villas in Christiansted. The resident said she fell asleep on the couch while watching television and was awakened by her minor daughter, who was screaming that someone was in the house. She saw a man wearing a white T-shirt and jeans run through her apartment and flee out the patio door.

The victim told police money was missing from her purse and her keys were missing.

Both cases will be followed up by the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives.
