Anthony Schneider, 21, was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, among other charges, in connection with a case that occurred on March 8, according to the V.I. Police Department.
Schneider was already in the custody of the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility in connection with a Feb. 11 shooting. Police executed an arrest warrant for Schneider at 1:30 p.m. Friday and charged him with possession of ammunition, failure to report firearms obtained outside or brought into the U.S. Virgin Islands, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and cultivating or manufacturing a controlled substance.
On March 8, during the investigation of shooting in Estate Richmond, Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives executed a search and arrest warrant on an Estate Work and Rest residence where Schneider was located. According to the report, during the search police discovered a loaded black handgun, a loaded magazine, ammunition, 59 grams of marijuana, four marijuana plants and cash.
Schneider’s bail was set at $33,000 and he was returned to Golden Grove pending further court action.
