The family of Victor Castro Sr., also known as "Castro," is saddened to announce his passing on Aug. 22, at the age of 77.
He was preceded in death by his sisters: Isabel Ayala and Virginia (Virgie) Murray.
He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Rita J. (Giraud) Castro; daughters: Loraine Morton, Anna Haynes, Carmen Malgaglio and Rita Kaufman; sons: Cuthbert and Victor Castro Jr.; sisters: RoseMarie Roldan, Patricia (Patsy) Jenkins and Ana Giraud; brothers: Julio Castro and Modesto (Stito) Castro; sister-in-law, Alma Castro; brothers-in-law: Santiago Roldan and John Giraud; grandsons: Craig Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Sean Morton, Gabriel Castro, Charles Malgaglio Jr., Mario Malgaglio and Victor Castro III; granddaughters: Catherine Johnson, Ashley White, Maria Castro, Victoria Castro and Nicole Kaufman; and great-grandchildren: Preston Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Kayden Johnson, Balen Johnson, Saeanna White, Sydney White, Sean Morton Jr., Logan Malgaglio, Joseph Gage Malgaglio, Oliver Malgaglio and Jai Davis.
He is also survived by daughters-in-law: Yvette Johnson and Lucille (Lollie) Castro; sons-in-law: Raymond Morton, Curtis Haynes and Mark Kaufman; nieces and nephews too numerous to mention; special friends: John Giraud, Gerard D. Boyce Sr., Ret. Lt. Col. Caroline Adams-Fawkes, Mike Foster, Alfredo Perez, Father Simon Peter, Lydia and Jerin Ventura, and many other friends and relatives too numerous to mention. Special thanks to Dr. Kendall Griffith, Dr. Dawn Manning and Ret. Lt. Col. Caroline Adams-Fawkes. Also thanks to the wonderful staff at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and the staff at the Cardiovascular Associates of the Virgin Islands and the Army Aviation Operating Facility.
Viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at James Memorial Funeral Home, 6AA La Grande Princesse.
Please join us in rejoicing and lifting his spirit unto the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 29, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Barren Spot. Viewing at 9:30 a.m. and services at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
