Wanted Suspect Turns Himself In

Burglary suspect Martin Isidore turned himself in to V.I. Police on Thursday, and St. Croix Chief of Police James Parris said “pressure from the community” was responsible for it happening.

Police had issued a wanted poster for Isidore on Tuesday, and on Thursday, the suspect called police and told them he would surrender himself. Isidore came to B Command in Frederiksted and was arrested just before 11 a.m.

Isidore was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, four counts of third-degree assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, carrying or using a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence, grand larceny two counts, possession of stolen property two counts, possession of ammunition, failure to report firearms obtained outside or brought into the Virgin Islands, first degree reckless endangerment and discharging or aiming a firearm.

His bail was set at $125,000 and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.

Police said that on Aug. 13 Isidore robbed two women at gunpoint at the Hidden Island Bar and Restaurant.

Parris said assistance from the community has been “tremendous.”
