Detectives are investigating a robbery and a burglary that took place over the weekend on St. Croix, according to the V.I. Police Department.
Police said the two cases are not related.
The robbery occurred just before 9 p.m. Sunday in Estate Williams Delight. Police said they were dispatched to a robbery and spoke to the male victim, who told them that as he drove into the yard of this home and got out of his car he was immediately approached by two armed men. A third suspect was standing in the roadway, he said.
The two suspects took money out of the victim’s pockets and the keys to his car. They then got into the victim’s vehicle and drove off in a northerly direction.
One suspect had wore gray Dickies pants and a black T-shirt. He had a blue T-shirt covering his face. The second suspect had a black T-shirt covering his face. No further descriptions were given.
The stolen vehicle was a beige Suzuki Vitara. The victim was not harmed, police said.
Just before 6 p.m. Friday police were dispatched to Estate Great Pond, where a male victim told officers an unknown person had entered his house. The witness said his son saw the intruder and yelled out, causing the suspect to flee the residence on foot, carrying a stolen back pack. The suspect jumped a fence in his escape.
Other officers traveling to the scene were flagged down by a man requesting a ride. Police noticed he fit the description of the suspect who just burglarized the home.
The suspect was later identified as 35-year-old Joseph Woodfolk of Estate La Grange. He was arrested, placed on a $50,000 bail and remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
