Army National Guard Pvt. Shakim M. Mike/St. Thomas
Aug. 6, 2013 (Joint Hometown News Service) — Army National Guard Pvt. Shakim M. Mike has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness. He also received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Mike is the son of Nadine Todman of Estate Thomas and Leslie Mike of Palm Strade, both of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. He is also the brother of Natasha McKay of Clove Terrace, Baltimore, Md.
He is a 2011 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas, V.I.

Army Pfc. Danielle A. DeGrasse/ St. Croix
August 9, 2013 (Joint Hometown News Service) — Army Pfc. Danielle A. DeGrasse has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness. He also received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
DeGrasse is the daughter of Olivia Hassell of Kingshill, St. Croix.
She is a 2012 graduate of St. Croix Central High School, Kingshill.

Army Pvt. Marcus M. Foy/ St. Thomas
August 13, 2013 (Joint Hometown News Service) — Army Pvt. Marcus M. Foy has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness. He received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Foy is the son of Keyma Ambrose and Maurice Foy, and grandson of Carmen White, all of St. Thomas.
He is a 2011 graduate of Ivanna Eudora Kean High School, St. Thomas.

Air National Guard Airman Jalisa M. RichardsonAugust 14, 2013 (Joint Hometown News Service) — Army Pvt. Tyresha A. Thomas-Jnolewis has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness She received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Thomas-Jnolewis is the daughter of Michelle Thomas of St. Thomas.
She is a 2005 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas.
Air National Guard Airman Jalisa M. Richardson/ St. Thomas
August 28, 2013 (Joint Hometown News Service) — Air National Guard Airman Jalisa M. Richardson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Richardson is the daughter of Brenda Jenkins of Cleveland, Ohio.
She is a 2008 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
