Fugitive Wanted for Georgia Armed Robbery Nabbed at Airport

Police on St. Thomas arrested a fugitive who was detained Saturday when he arrived at the Cyril E. King International Airport, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The suspect, Cameron Jerome Broadbelt, is wanted on armed robbery charges in Gwinnet County, Georgia, outside Atlanta, police said. The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department indicated their agency will seek to extradite the suspect.

The criminal arrest warrant issued for Broadbelt stated that on October 10, 2012, he brandished a weapon and stole 35 T-Mobile cell phones and $300 cash.

Broadbelt, 25, was arrested at about 4:45 p.m. Saturday. A native of Florida, he was held without bail.
